We believe the facts presented by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to be true and accurate.
We acknowledge that Indigenous peoples have suffered under colonial and post-colonial policies.
We commit to developing and maintaining spaces that are safe and equitable for our partners and community members.
We call for an end to the systemic inequalities faced by the Indigenous communities.
We commit to education and the propagation of truth.
We stand for Truth and Reconciliation.
But that isn’t enough. We must commit to an action – to bring about a spirit of trust and cooperation, and to develop a belief that our cultures can coexist in peace, harmony and respect. This is a course of action that requires bravery and truth, with humility as our base. Let us work to understand each other, to forgive the past but never forget it. To that end, we must share, honestly and openly. Then, perhaps we can establish a climate of love and true reconciliation.
